The Nuclear Engineering & Science Center is committed to providing workforce development opportunities to our industry colleagues and professionals. The NESC offers continuing education training and is developing a comprehensive Nuclear Reactor Operator’s License training class.
Texas A&M Nuclear Engineering students also have the opportunity to get hands-on experience working at the NESC with the Nuclear Reactor and receive training and instruction towards earning their Reactor Operator’s License. The Nuclear Power Institute is the Outreach Division of the NESC dedicated to workforce development through outreach and education efforts in K-12, higher education, and Industry.
Specifically, NPI is developing human resources and preparing the workforce for the nuclear industry around the world. NPI meets these vital workforce needs through a broad partnership with Industry, two-year community and technical colleges, four-year universities, high schools, middle schools, educators in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), state government, federal and international agencies, and elected and civic leaders.
