Neutron activation analysis and counting lab

You are here: Home / Research / Equipment / Neutron activation analysis and counting lab

Samples may be quickly transferred between the reactor and the counting laboratory through a pneumatic transfer system. The counting lab contains four high-purity germanium (HPGe) detectors and advanced gamma spectroscopy software for trace isotope identification, allowing for analysis down to parts per million (ppm) and parts per billion (ppb). Remote spectroscopy allows real time collection and analysis of gamma spectra over the internet. This opens up collaboration and educational opportunities all over the world.
