Dear Colleagues, Partners, Former Students, and Friends,
The reactor at the Texas A&M University Nuclear Engineering & Science Center (NESC – formerly NSC) is celebrating its 60th Anniversary as it was first taken critical on December 18, 1961. The NESC and Nuclear Power Institute (NPI) staff are planning a series of activities, events, competitions, and programs starting in August and leading up to December. Understanding the NESC has been part of numerous collaborations, training, partnerships, projects, and education programs over the past six decades, we want to extend a sincere invitation to you all in actively participating in our celebrations.
If you, and/or anyone you know with interest, would like to engage in some way, by sharing a memory, reflection, picture, or anything else, we would appreciate hearing from you. We will highlight our collaborators in this endeavor on our platforms and communications leading up to our celebration. Please contact [email protected] with any questions or submissions.
The NESC is the parent organization of the NPI with a reactor operations division and an outreach & education division; The NPI is part of the outreach & education division. The NESC was renamed from the Nuclear Science Center (NSC) to the Nuclear Engineering & Science Center in 2019. We are currently rebranding all materials, information, and logos to reflect the new NESC name.
